Boulder Art Galleries

Get a closer look!
From a distance Boulder’s Flatirons are beautiful and also look flat as if they exist in only one plane. When you get closer you see quite a bit of topography and depth between them. In many ways paintings and other works of art are like Boulder’s Flatirons. From a distance a painting looks beautiful but also flat to the eye as if it only existed in one plane of dimension too. But get closer and you see the numerous sculptures of miniature mounds of mixed colors an artist has diligently layered onto a flat canvas to masterfully bring majestic landscaped images alive.
Boulder’s Flatirons attracts world class climbers and world class artists. Get closer by walking the historic red brick downtown Pearl Street mall where you can look up and see the topography between the Flatirons backdrop and visit numerous galleries to view up close the handiwork of Boulder’s community artisans. Enjoy many fine coffee shops, restaurants and street buskers as you journey through historic downtown streets!
